Some years ago I started creating solo guitar arrangements of surf music tunes. Why? I’m not really sure. There was something kind of meditative about writing out the arrangements and then learning them. I found that surf music translates really well to solo fingerstyle guitar. Who would’ve thought? Creating these arrangements has become an activity that I really look forward to. For me it’s not unlike doing a crossword puzzle, or a Sudoku.
Eventually I started posting videos of me playing my arrangements on YouTube. I also started a Patreon page where I walk through how to play various arrangements of mine. Below are some sample videos for you to get a feel for this project if you’re curious.
